Frequently Asked Questions About Colonics & Energy Healing at Love Being

General Questions

1. What is colon hydrotherapy, and how does it work? Colon hydrotherapy is a gentle method of cleansing the large intestine using warm, filtered water. At Love Being, I use a closed-system, gravity-centered approach—no machines, no force. Water enters and leaves the body naturally through gravity, while I provide gentle abdominal massage to support the process. The goal isn’t just cleansing—it’s restoring balance, vitality, and flow. ⸻ 2. What is a Shamanic Colonic? A Shamanic Colonic combines an energy work session with a colonic for a deeply integrated experience. We begin with energetic clearing and nervous system reset, which prepares your body to release on a deeper level. Then we move into the colonic, allowing physical detox to follow the energetic clearing. This combination creates profound harmony and renewal—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. ⸻ 3. What is Shamanic Energy Work, and how is it different from Reiki? Shamanic Energy Work draws from my 20+ years of Reiki practice but has evolved into something more dynamic and multidimensional. It includes sound healing, intentional touch, and shamanic tools like rattles, crystals, and sacred herbs. While Reiki typically follows set hand positions, my approach is intuitive and ceremonial, meeting your system exactly where it needs to shift. ⸻ 4. How do I know which service is right for me? If you’re focused on gut health, digestion, or physical detox, start with colon hydrotherapy. If you want deeper emotional or energetic clearing, choose Shamanic Energy Work—or go all in with a Shamanic Colonic for a full reset. Still unsure? Reach out. I’ll guide you toward the best starting point. ⸻ 5. Do you offer remote sessions for energy work? Yes. Shamanic Energy Work can be done in person or remotely. Energy is not bound by physical space, and remote sessions are equally effective. Afterward, you’ll receive session notes and a voice recording to support integration.

Colonics – Safety & Process

1. Is colon hydrotherapy safe? Yes, when performed by a trained professional, colon hydrotherapy is safe and gentle. I use sterilized equipment (cleaned in an FDA approved Dry-Heat Autoclave), and the closed-system method minimizes mess and odor. I’ve performed over 25,000 colonics and hold the highest standards for safety and care. ⸻ 2. Does a colonic hurt? No. Most people find the experience surprisingly comfortable and even relaxing. You may feel a sense of fullness or cramping as your body releases, but it’s never truly painful. Most clients describe feeling much lighter and clearer afterwards. ⸻ 3. How long does a colonic session take? Plan for 90 mins total, which includes time for intake and the session itself; however, most sessions average only 60-75 mins. I book more time in case we need it, but we rarely do. ⸻ 4. What equipment do you use? I use a closed-system, gravity-centered method—free from pumps or mechanical pressure. The process works with your body’s natural rhythms, creating a gentle and effective cleanse without force. ⸻ 5. How do you ensure sanitation and hygiene? Your safety is paramount. Equipment is sterilized between clients with bleach and an FDA Approved Dry-Heat autoclave, and the space is kept meticulously clean.

Before & After a Colonic

1. How should I prepare for my colonic? Stay hydrated and eat light the day of your session—fresh fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water. Avoid heavy, greasy meals and alcohol 24 hours before. And come as you are—no extreme prep needed. Upon confirmation of booking, you will receive a detailed list of instructions for how to prepare. ⸻ 2. Should I eat before my appointment? A light meal a few hours before your session is fine. Avoid eating right before your appointment to keep the body relaxed and comfortable. ⸻ 3. What should I expect during a colonic session? You’ll be comfortably positioned on a treatment table, covered at all times for privacy. Warm, filtered water will gently flow into the colon and out again through a closed system. I’ll support the process with gentle abdominal massage and grounding touch. You’re in control the entire time—if you need to pause, we pause. ⸻ 4. How will I feel afterward? Most people feel lighter, clearer, and more energized. Occasionally, mild fatigue can happen as the body continues to detox. This is normal and usually short-lived. Hydrate well, eat nourishing food, and give yourself time to rest if needed. ⸻ 5. Do I need multiple colonics, or is one enough? One session can create a noticeable shift, but a series of 2–3 sessions close together often allows for deeper release and longer-lasting results. We can discuss what’s best for you after your first appointment.

Health & Suitability

1. Who should NOT get a colonic? Colonics are not recommended if you have certain conditions such as active inflammatory bowel disease (like ulcerative colitis), recent colon or abdominal surgery (in the last six months), if you are pregnant and in the 1st or 3rd trimester, and/or have cancer of the colon. If you’re unsure, reach out—I’ll guide you and ensure your safety. ⸻ 2. Can colonics help with constipation, bloating, or detox? Yes. Colonics are highly effective for relieving constipation, reducing bloating, and supporting overall detoxification. Many clients also notice improved mood and mental clarity as the gut-brain connection resets. ⸻ 3. Are colonics good for emotional or energetic release? Absolutely. The gut holds more than physical waste—it can store tension and old emotions. Many clients report feeling lighter emotionally and energetically after a session.

Energy Work

1. What happens during a Shamanic Energy Work session? You’ll rest comfortably as I work with sound, touch, and energy currents to clear stagnation and restore balance. Each session is unique, guided by your intention and the wisdom of your body. Expect deep relaxation and the sense that something important has shifted. ⸻ 2. What can I expect to feel during or after an energy session? Responses vary—you might feel warmth, tingling, waves of emotion, or deep calm. Afterward, many people feel grounded, lighter, and more centered. Some notice insights or clarity in the days that follow amidst other (sometimes) miraculous changes. ⸻ 3. How is this different from traditional Reiki or massage? While rooted in Reiki, my approach incorporates shamanic practices, sound healing, and intentional touch. It’s more interactive and ceremonial—working at multiple levels of reality, from the nervous system to the energetic body. ⸻ 4. Can energy work help with stress, anxiety, or trauma? Yes. This work is especially helpful for calming the nervous system and creating a sense of safety, which allows old patterns to release gently. It’s a beautiful complement to therapy or other healing modalities. ⸻ 5. Do you combine energy work and colonics in one session? Yes—this is my Shamanic Colonic offering. It combines energy work and colon hydrotherapy for a truly holistic reset, both physical and energetic.
